With two wins and three losses, the Mets will dramatically advance to the World Series if they win all of their sixth and seventh games. Games 6 and 7 will be held at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers' home stadium, on Saturday and Sunday.

Dodgers' starter Jack Flaherty scored a lot of points from the beginning. In the bottom of the first inning, "Polar Bear" Pete Alonso hit Flaherty's slider to center field for a three-run homer.

At the bottom of the third inning, Starling Marte's two-run double on the left and Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nemo added consecutive timely hits to widen the gap to 8-1.

When the Dodgers were trailing 2-10, Andi Faz's three-run homerun in the top of the fifth inning and Mookie Betts' solo shot in the top of the sixth inning pushed the Dodgers to 6-10, four runs higher. However, the Mets added one run each in the bottom of the sixth and eighth innings to seal the victory. Then, closer Edwin Díaz took the mound in the top of the eighth inning to keep the lead by blocking two innings.

On the day, the Mets destroyed the Dodgers' mound by hitting 14 hits including Alonso's three-run homer. Marte had four hits and three RBIs in five times at bat. He also had as many as five hitters.

The Dodgers became a losing pitcher as starting pitcher Flaherty gave up eight hits and four walks in three innings and allowed eight runs.

At the fourth game of the American League Championship Series held at Progressive Field in Cleveland, the New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians 8-6. With the win and one loss, the Yankees had only one win to advance to the World Series.

Juan Soto's two-run homer gave the Yankees the upper hand in the top of the first inning. When Cleveland Indians recovered a point with Jose Ramirez' sacrifice fly to the left field right after the bottom of the first inning, Austin Wells' solo home run made the run again in the top of the second inning.

Leading 3-2 with Giancarlo Stanton's three-run homer, the Yankees ran away 6-2 further. Cleveland followed three runs in the bottom of the seventh and one run in the bottom of the eighth to tie the game 6-6, but the Yankees scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning due to opponent's error and Gleyber Torres' timely hit to center field.
